You can always try to trap more ants: Let's do a triple trap.

Here I set up 3 traps. In one was a large drop of Jelly. In another was peanut butter. In the third was a denatured alcohol solution. . . . What I observed was just as Dr. Kjar predicted. The ants explored randomly. When one found the jelly (sugar), it got very excited. I expected many ants would collect there and I could then pour the alcohol mixture on them and get lots of specimens. Actually very few ants visited the jelly after the first few. On the other hand, 2 ants fell into the alcohol mix and gave their all for science.
